Bangs for Every Face Shape

Fall is a season where many women decide they're ready for a hair change. Rock on!! Now is the perfect time for one change in particular: bangs. Think about it: no sweat, no humidity. Before you rule out bangs completely, I'm going to break down the best type of bangs for every face shape. See if you can identify yours!

Round Face

If you have around face, like me, your chin is rounded and you have wide cheekbones. You probably think it's impossible to pull off bangs without making your cheeks appear short and full. Wrong! Thick, side swept bangs are perfect for you. They will help define your jawline and elongate your chin.

Oval Face

If you have an oval face, your face is longer than it is wide. You've just won the Jeopardy of face shapes. You can pull off virtually anything! Go bold and heavy or subtle. Here are two of my favorite looks for you perfect face ladies.

Square Face

If you have a square face, your jawline is more pronounced than other face shapes, and your chin is less pointy. To offset this, opt for a more heavy bang that hit your eyebrow or just below. You can wear heavy bangs straight across or sweep them to the side.

Heart-Shaped Face

If you have a heart shaped face, you probably have a more wide forehead and pointy chin. Bangs that are wispy and side swept will help draw attention to your eyes and lips. Try a longer version - bangs that begin at the top of your eyebrow and sweep down to the top of your cheekbones.

Bang Maintenance

Tip #1: don't condition your bangs. This will weigh them down and make styling them difficult.

Tip #2: do you have bang bed head? Before starting your day, spray down your bangs and restyle them.

Tip #3: spray dry shampoo on your bang area before bed.

Tip #4: if you wear a full fringe, avoid using moisturizer on your forehead. This will make your bangs feel greasy.
