How to Make Fine Hair Look Thicker
Fine hair can be difficult to work with. I myself have fine hair, and styling can be so frustrating! Therefore, I'm dedicating this blog post to ladies who struggle with me. Here are some ways to give the illusion of thicker hair.
LIGHTEN UP A LITTLE.
Consider adding some highlights or balayage to your next color service. Lightener roughs up the texture of the hair cuticle, and this will give the appearance of fullness. They also hold a curl or style better.

GET THE RIGHT HAIRCUT.
If you’re looking for a haircut that will make your hair look more full, there aren't too many options. Length weighs down fine hair and makes it look stringy. Too many layers make hair look thin or uneven if not styled properly. Great styles are blunt cuts, cuts shoulder length or above, and cuts with square layers.
CURL IT.
It goes without saying that curling your hair will give it more volume. When using a curling iron, the smaller the barrel, the tighter the curl will be.
SWITCH UP YOUR PART.
When your part stays the same for long stretches of time, your hair will appear flat on that side of your head. Flip your part every few months to give more volume around your face.

USE DRY SHAMPOO.
Fine hair tends to get greasy within 2-3 days. Instead of washing your hair often, dry shampoo will buy you some extra time. Sprays it on your roots; let it sit for a few minutes, then massage or brush through your hair. Tip: use dry shampoo in the evening, so that your hair can absorb oils overnight (and it will keep your pillow a little more clean).
